To New Beginnings!

A year ago life changed. I started a blog, went to India for six weeks with a 2 1/2 year old, and my father had brain surgery.

They say under pressure you either succeed or fail. Well — I did not fail! I took a few detours.

The trip to India was for work. A job that is a family business. As the DAUGHTER and the andDesign Editor, I was to reconnect our family friendships with the rug industry in India. As the editor, I was to report on what the rug industry was doing to help the rug industry. As a Mom, I had to take my 2 1/2yr old son with me for six weeks….that was interesting, balancing mom and work in a foreign country. At the end of the day, I did this trip for me. I love India. I see so much potential, life, art, history and people that it makes working in the rug industry amazing.

The blog was started in part because of that trip. It then got pushed to the back burner because of my father’s surgery. I had to step up and help out through taking on more of a role in the family business. 2014 was a whirl wind of learning, growing and holding it together. I won’t say it is time to get back on the horse because I never fell off…I was just hanging by my britches.

The elephant has been my animal symbol for many years. Many great things are happening and I want to share the journey.
