We traveled from Delhi to Jaipur on a 7am flight. THANK GOD for jetlag and Lilibaby carrier. We made it. The rest of the morning was spent learning about rugs. Late afternoon finished off with visits to the Elephant Village, riding a camel, shopping. HBT picked out his own traditional Rajastan outfit.
Some of the exciting things that happened on this leg of the journey.
1. You have to take a bus to the plane. HBT found this tons of fun–trucks, buses, tractors and planes all in one place. Little boy heaven.
2. I got a few comments of HBT in his Lilibaby carrier. Many women looked at us. To be honest, it might have been because HBT is blond and blue eyed. Then I had one father and two grandfathers ask me about the carrier. One grandfather, the indian hindi term is Dadaji, asked for the name and details of the carrier. He talked about how his daughter needed something just like this. It made me feel really really good.
I saw one other woman wearing her toddler. Not in the good way– a large one year old, from what I could tell, being worn on the front and outwards. AAAHHH tried to take a picture, but to far away.
3. When we arrived in Jaipur, we waited for our luggage. There was a group of tribal woman ( I think) who wanted their picture with HBT. Again I think it was because of his Blond hair and blue eyes.
here are the pictures from the mornings journey.
While I worked, HBT explored Jaipur Rug’s main headquarters.
HBT has been a trooper. As a reward, we did a little sightseeing and shopping. View the Elephant Village for those pictures. HBT was scared of the Elephants. Still hours later he was talking about them. The camels and cows have been a big hit. We picked up his first set of puppets and a camel.
It was a long day. We both got back to the house and fell asleep.
